I may not be Irish, but your victory gave me more satisfaction than any other I've watched in more than 40 years. A shining example of achievement despite extremes of adversity. Many congratulations. John Higginson
No question, Sir. You answered them all quite well this past Sunday. Congratulations!!! Andrew Morgret, Memphis, TN USA
Darren - I am one of the fortunate few who have had the pleasure of your company for 4-5 hours in a pro-am before the 2003 Deutsche Bank Classic at the TPC of Boston. My (then) 12 year old son caddied for me that day, and the warmth, fun and camaraderie you shared with us that day have been a memory of a lifetime for both of us. We were both glued to the set on Sunday as you brought home the Open Championship. Well done, well played and keep it going from two of your biggest fans! Please stop by for a celebratory pint the next time you're in the States!
Congratulations Darren - I have been a fan of yours for years.... actually met you at Royal Portrush 3 weeks before the Open. I had just finished my round and you shook my hand and signed my Pro V - needless to say, its perched on my office book shelf... Ricky Dowell - Houston, TX
I don't have much to say Darren other than I have been a fan of yours since I can remember, which if you were with me at the pub last night i guess wouldnt be sayin' much...(laugh) As an American and being a fan of yours and recently Rory's I am so proud of you and your accomplishment at The Open. I had a pint ready in hand before you tapped in on 18 on Sunday. Cheers to you! If you ever are in the States and are in Michigan you have a place to stay at my house. Love ya! - Micah Williams
