Hi Darren. In the various tournaments on the tour, how do the organisers decide who plays with who and hopefully we will see you at the British Open? Best Wishes

Hi Graeme, the European Tour do the draw for each event and generally speaking it goes in order of the category of the player. For example Category 3 is players who have won a tournament during the current year or the two previous year so they will be drawn together. Category 7 is players who finished in the top 116 of the European Tour Order of Merit the previous year. There are many categories and it would take me for ever to go through each one but that is how the draw works! I also hope to be at Birkdale in July! Regards, Darren

Hello Darren, I wrote to tell you last october that i severed my left thumb, ive had extensive physio and my club pro has helped me a great deal with my grip and swing throughout my recovery. In the last six weeks i ve come down from 25 to 17 handicap,do you think i should aim lower this season or keep playing the way i am and make a bigger push for the start of next season. Hope to see you at the scottish Open and the very best of luck for the rest of season.

Hi Michael, first of all it's great that you are back playing and playing well by the sounds of it, well done! I think you should just carry on what you are doing and see what happens, some times if you give a big push things can go wrong so just keep doing what you're doing! I'm really looking forward to Loch Lomond - I always enjoy it there specially having the chance to do a spot of fishing as well as the golf! Cheers, Darren.

Hi Darren, Congrats on winning at the Asian Open, it has been a long time Big Guy and hopefully the floodlights will now open and you'll get your hands on the Open. My question is, how do you control your putting stroke enough to knock in a 30 footer after missing two shorties on the previous two holes?

Hi Dave, that is a very good question! I just wanted to get that putt to the hole and with a bit of lady luck it went in! Some times they go in and some times they don't and this time it dropped! Kind Regards, Darren.

Hi Darren, I was so thrilled to see you win in China, I had a bet on you on Wednesday at 33/1 so thank you for that, but i noticed when you play you strike the ball lovely but have a short follow through (not a posie finish like some other golfers) why is that? My pro trys to get me to pose but i concentrate so much on my backswing and releasing my right wrist i forget to do the full turn pose. ps. My neighbours wondered why i was screaming on Sunday morning when u put the putt in on the 18th I told them it was because Dazza has won.

Dear Julie, I am also thrilled to have that win under my belt! Am also thrilled for you that you had a 'nice little earner'! I guess my follow through is always the way I have played golf, we all have our different ways of swinging the club and that's mine. If you transfer your weight properly through the swing you should end up in the 'pose' position naturally! Hopefull I'll give you something else to cheer about later in the year and the neighbours will be wondering some more!!! Cheers Darren.
