Darren played in the JP McManus Invitational Pro-Am at Adare Manor in Ireland and won the event by one shot from Luke Donald. He beat a stellar field including world number one Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell and Dustin Johnson to name but a few.
Darren shot one over par in the first round and followed that up with a four under par 68 to give him his winning total of three under. He was presented with the stunning trophy, designed by Lorenzo Quinn, by JP McManus on the 18th green at Adare Manor.
Over €55m has been raised for charity since it's inception in 1990, with all the monies in their entirety going to the beneficiaries. The tournament's success stems from the genuine interest invested in the event by all the parties including the golfers, volunteers, supporters, media, public, and the European Tour and the committee
Darren has now hopped across the sea and plays in the Barclays Scottish Open this week at the stunning Loch Lomond course north of Glasgow. Darren has played well over this course over the years and was tied 2nd in 2003 and 2005 and 5th tied in 2006.
He tees off on Thursday from the 1st at 13.50 alongside Tom Lehman and ISM stablemate, Ross McGowan. They tee off on Friday from the 10th at 07.50.
